Loro Piana is an Italian textile and luxury goods producer. Loro Piana's Textile Division has been supplying the finest wool fabrics to the most exclusive clients for more than six generations. Loro Piana produces textiles in its own facilities in Italy and the finishing department is where its expert workforce gives the luxurious fabrics the refinement that places them above competitors' products.

Loro Piana chose Quintiq's planning & optimization solution to schedule machines and personnel in its finishing department. The project began in May 2011 and went live in October that same year. Initial improvements could be seen in the first few months of 2012 with the rationalization of planning, enhancement of analysis capabilities, the ability to predict availability of batches of finished products, and visibility of the machine load. This made it possible to avoid bottlenecks, increase productivity, and maintain the level of service to clients.
