About Our Client

We are recruiting a Manager of Transportation Systems & Data (m/f) for our client, a global player in the consumer goods industry, based in Switzerland, Zürich region.

Job Description

In this role you will be acting as a business partner, providing transportation analytics and master data to the regional organizations as well as the global distribution and logistics excellence organization.

The responsibility of this role is to establish transportation analytics and transportation master data management as it relates to transportation lanes, transit times, rates and carrier agreements. This role is not responsible for weights and dimensions, but it will help to facilitate issue resolution with supply management and engineering teams as necessary. Your further responsibilities will be:

  • Support standardization in transportation operations reporting and master data management and best practices across regions
  • Be responsible for the accuracy and quality of the transportation data, including carrier rates, lanes and routes
  • Work closely with stakeholders and system owners/stewards to ensure internal legacy systems and SAP are in synch with TMS and best practices for transportation data management are under development
  • Maintain strong relationship with key external transportation partner to receive required information from the transportation management system
  • Work closely with key external transportation partner and the transportation community of practice to produce reports required for global business reviews
  • Support regions in resolving ad hoc data issues and manage data alignment with cross regional stakeholders
  • Collaborate with key external transportation partners to support users on technical and functional issues as required

The Successful Applicant

  • Academic background with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems/Data Management or equivalent education combined with Logistics/Supply Chain certifications
  • At least 6 years of experience in data management ideally within a fast paced rapidly growing consumer goods industry supply chain management environment
  • Ability to quickly analyze data from complex, dispersed sources and identify issues, trends and patterns (working with data lakes / tableau preferred)
  • Demonstration of a strong analytics and reporting capability
  • Excellent understanding of ERP systems (SAP is desired)
  • Fluency in English at a Business level, other European languages would be an advantage combined with great communication skills
