About Our Client

We are recruiting a Head of Transportation Logistics CoE (m/f) for our client, a global player in the consumer goods industry, based in Switzerland, Zürich region.

Job Description

The responsibility of this role is to lead the global transportation management system transformation. You will drive the global transportation strategy and support the implementation of systems regionally with the key stakeholders of the Supply Chain CoE community. The key responsibilities are:

  • Develop strategies to support sustainability metrics, quality, safety and security, working across the supply chain
  • Advance and lead global transport modality strategy (air freight, ocean, parcel etc.) ​
  • Own the airfreight approval process globally
  • Retain and direct the strategic joint venture relationships with the transportation partners​
  • Develop standardized transportation budgeting process, closely working with regional management and finance organization
  • Act as the single point of contact for transportation operational and financial performance across regions ​
  • Conduct periodical reviews with customers and stakeholders, and define metrics and performance management processes​
  • Socialize the transportation strategy across other areas of the business, highlighting where transportation can improve operations​
  • Identifies new transportation trends and solutions that will benefit company's strategy​
  • Lead the global transportation community of practice across all regions ​
  • Drive two-way communication with the regional transportation teams, to identify and develop opportunities in the region ​

The Successful Applicant

  • Academic background with min. a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Supply Chain, Operations, and/or Management
  • At least 12 years of experience in a global logistics management role preferably within the high-paced consumer goods or relevant industries (healthcare and life sciences, food/beverage, chemicals, luxury, etc.)
  • Demonstration of a proven global transport leadership across multiple regions and an exceptional ability to analyze complex systems and relationships
  • Proven expertise in transportation logistics with all modes of transportation and trends, including transport procurement experience
  • Excellent understanding of ERP systems (SAP is desired)
  • Fluency in English at a Business level, other European languages would be an advantage, combined with great communication skills
