Product Supply Chain Owner

The Product Supply Chain Owner (PSCO) is accountable for designing and implementing best-in-class supply chains, seamlessly connecting patients to our medicines. The PSCO is a matrix leader, responsible for managing the Product Supply Chain Team  consisting of colleagues from demand and long-range planning functions. The PSCO also performs Supply Planning, owning the E2E product supply plan with accountability for planning decisions; this combination of activities in one role removes an interface and enables faster decisions.

Experience / Education:

- BS degree in related field required. MS or MBA strongly preferred

- Minimum of 8 - 10 years in Supply Chain or related work experience (Technical Operations)

- Minimum of 8 - 10 years in Pharmaceutical industry or related work

- Strong Supply Chain Management acumen; APICS Certification preferred

- Subject-matter expertise in ERP and supply chain systems and reporting; Specific experience with SAP R/3, BW, and APO at all levels

- Good understanding of Pharmaceutical industry (regulatory environment), GMP, risk management assessments and project management

- Experience in the core activities of Pharma Technical Operations (Manufacturing, Quality, Technical Regulatory, Technical Development, Supply Chain)

- English a must, German preferred, other languages valuable

- Min. 2 years previous matrix team leadership experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Communication / Interaction:

- Position reports directly to Direct, Supply Chain Mgmt in PTSO

- Educate and lead through influence management, teammates and cross-functional peers

- Strong systems and process knowledge and the ability to communicate and positively influence behaviors at all levels of the organization

- Mobilize and lead cross-functional global teams to facilitate root cause analysis and resolve issues

- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills suitable for Executive management

- Ability to consult with senior executives on supply chain matters

- Ability to operate globally, work across multiple time zones, work with global functions and country-affiliates

Self-Reliance / Decision-Making:

- Use prior experiences and skills to quickly understand urgent and unusually complex issues and take appropriate actions

- Prioritize and manage multiple demands and commitments depending on business needs

- Superior problem-solving skills with an ability to anticipate operational issues and recommend solutions

- Strong ability to make decisions within their decision rights and to escalate to executive management when appropriate

Complexity Management:

- Able to understand the big picture and to focus or execute the details when needed: strategic thinker with operative capabilities

- Able to understand impact of often unique issues from multiple functional perspectives including Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing in order to evaluate and determine best options

- Able to perform transactional operations within SAP R/3, APO, Regulatory systems, Master data systems

- Process thinking. Uses planning processes effectively to achieve results

People Management/Supervision:

- Demonstrated leadership skills in a matrix organization

- Team player with attitude to take over responsibility and initiative

- Experience in managing global, multicultural, multi-functional and remote teams in a matrix organization

- Provides guidance and manages work activities for projects and teams

Result Orientation:

- Self-directed individual, exercises significant independence in determining objectives and approaches to assignments

- Focused on delivering results that add value to the business

- Looks for areas of continuous improvement to improve efficiency and simplification

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

- Can accommodate required international travel
