The American Public University System (APUS) is a leading provider of online higher education, with a focus on educating the military and public service communities.

APUS serves over 100,000 working adults worldwide and boasts an offering over 180 degree and certificate programs. With over 1,750 faculty members, APUS needed a way to streamline and standardize its course scheduling activities across the organization.

In 2012, APUS selected Quintiq to build an automated course scheduling and balancing system to replace the manual processes that were in place. The new system simplified the course scheduling process to become more scalable, eliminated costly overruns, and optimized faculty scheduling.
